AT A GLANCE
Tell the clinic what exercise and heat-related activities you have planned. Ask for specific restart instructions after the proposed procedure rather than treating all normal activity as a single category.
Describe what your routine involves
A gentle walk, a strenuous class, swimming and a sauna are not the same activity. Tell the clinician about the intensity, environment and timing of your plans. If the procedure changes at consultation, revisit the instructions instead of carrying over advice for a different treatment. Ask what symptoms or skin changes should make you contact the clinic before restarting an activity.
Questions to bring to your consultation
Use these questions to turn your interests into a specific discussion with your doctor. Keep the proposed treatment, the reason for it and the follow-up arrangements together in your notes.
- Which activities require a pause for my procedure?
- What conditions should be met before I restart?
- Does the advice change for swimming, saunas or intense exercise?
Your questions
Does a low-downtime description mean immediate unrestricted exercise?
No. Ask the clinician to translate the general description into instructions for your actual activities and treatment. Do not infer exercise clearance from appointment length.
