AT A GLANCE
A thread lift places absorbable threads under the skin to lift sagging areas. Jcell lists three thread types: MINT Lift FINE+, MINT Lift PETIT+ and QTL Lift. The clinic’s thread lift process includes a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon, anaesthesia, a customised design and aftercare.
What is Thread Lift?
MINT threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), an absorbable material, by Hans Biomed. Jcell suggests MINT Lift FINE+ for thin skin or a simpler procedure, PETIT+ for localised areas such as the nasolabial folds and forehead, and QTL Lift for lifting deeper wrinkles. Unlike Ultherapy or Thermage, a thread lift is a needle-based procedure, so ask about the number of threads, the entry points, anaesthesia and the recovery you should plan for.

Ask for a treatment estimate
Tell Jcell which treatment and area you want to discuss, and when you will be in Seoul. Ask for the amount in Korean won, what is included and what needs an in-person assessment.
Request a quote on WhatsAppEdit the message before sending. Your appointment is confirmed only when the clinic replies with availability.
Questions for your consultation
A useful consultation begins with your concerns, previous procedures and the time you have in Seoul. Consider asking:
- Is my concern suited to a thread lift, an energy-based treatment or neither?
- Which thread type and how many threads would you use, and where?
- What anaesthesia is used, and how long does the procedure take?
- What recovery and follow-up should I plan before my flight?

Risks and recovery
Ask your surgeon to explain the risks of the threads proposed, such as bruising, swelling, tenderness, asymmetry, dimpling, infection and threads that can be felt under the skin, and how a complication would be managed after you leave Seoul. Recovery differs between patients and depends on the threads and areas treated.
Ask about alternatives, expected recovery and how to contact the clinic for follow-up. Treatment decisions should follow an individual medical consultation.
Thread Lift: your questions
Who performs thread lifts at Jcell?
Jcell’s thread lift page describes a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Jinwoo Jung is listed as a board-certified plastic surgeon; ask the clinic to confirm who will perform your procedure.
Is a thread lift the same as Ultherapy?
No. A thread lift places threads under the skin; Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound from the skin surface. Compare them in the thread lift vs Ultherapy guide.
What are MINT threads made of?
MINT threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), an absorbable material, according to the manufacturer.
Can I have a thread lift during a short trip to Seoul?
Ask before booking. Bruising and swelling may take several days to settle, and any review should happen before you leave Seoul.
