What is Potenza?
Cynosure describes Potenza as a system with monopolar and bipolar RF modes. In a microneedling treatment, needles enter the skin and RF energy heats tissue. This differs from surface-applied RF treatment such as Thermage. Ask what concern is being treated and how your skin assessment affects the approach.

Risks and recovery
In October 2025, the US FDA warned of reported serious complications with certain uses of RF microneedling, including burns, scarring, fat loss and nerve damage. This is a device-category warning, not a finding specific to Jcell or a statement of Korean approval status. Ask about this risk profile, infection prevention and your individual suitability.
Ask about alternatives, expected recovery and how to contact the clinic for follow-up. Treatment decisions should follow an individual medical consultation.

Is Potenza a needle-free treatment?
RF microneedling uses needles to enter the skin. Ask which tip and method are proposed so you understand the procedure before consenting.
Does RF microneedling have no downtime?
No fixed recovery time can be promised. Discuss possible skin reactions, complications and follow-up, especially if you have flights or events planned.
Should I mention previous acne or scar treatment?
Yes. Bring the dates, areas and names of previous treatments when available, along with current medications and any unusual healing reactions.
Can Potenza be combined with a skin booster?
Ask the doctor to explain the exact proposed combination, how each product is administered and the supporting evidence and risks. Do not assume a device is approved to deliver a particular product.
