SKINVIVE Hyaluronic Acid Skin Booster in Seoul.

Discuss SKINVIVE, an intradermal hyaluronic acid injectable, in an English-speaking consultation at Jcell.

AT A GLANCE

SKINVIVE is a crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel with 0.3% lidocaine, made by Allergan Aesthetics in its JUVÉDERM range. It is injected into the dermis rather than used to add volume. In Korea it is a medical device for use in the cheek skin of adults.

What is SKINVIVE?

Jcell describes SKINVIVE as working across the dermal layer instead of creating volume like a conventional filler. The clinic says mild redness or swelling usually settles within 1 to 2 days. Ask how many sessions are proposed, how far apart they would be and how the result will be assessed, as responses differ between patients.

Questions for your consultation

A useful consultation begins with your concerns, previous procedures and the time you have in Seoul. Consider asking:

  • Is my concern skin texture, fine lines or volume?
  • How is SKINVIVE different from Rejuran or other skin boosters for my skin?
  • How many sessions would you suggest, and how far apart?
  • What should I avoid after treatment while travelling?

Risks and recovery

Redness, swelling, bruising, firmness or small bumps at the injection sites can occur. The Korean product information lists rare serious complications from injection into a blood vessel, including vision problems, blindness, stroke and skin necrosis, and reactions to lidocaine. Tell your doctor about allergies, liver or kidney conditions and your medications before treatment.

Ask about alternatives, expected recovery and how to contact the clinic for follow-up. Treatment decisions should follow an individual medical consultation.

SKINVIVE: your questions

Is SKINVIVE a filler?

It is a hyaluronic acid gel in Allergan’s JUVÉDERM range, but it is injected into the dermis for skin smoothness rather than to add volume. Ask your doctor what it is intended to change in your case.

Does SKINVIVE hurt?

It contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. Jcell says treatment-related discomfort is relatively low; ask what to expect for your treatment area.

How long is the downtime after SKINVIVE?

Jcell says mild redness or swelling usually settles within 1 to 2 days. Plan events and flights with your doctor rather than assuming the same course.

Is SKINVIVE the same as Rejuran?

No. SKINVIVE is a hyaluronic acid gel; Rejuran is based on polynucleotides. Compare them in the SKINVIVE vs Rejuran guide.
