AT A GLANCE
Dry skin and dehydrated skin are often used differently in everyday skin-care discussions. For a consultation, describe flaking, tightness, discomfort and when they occur; those observations are more useful than self-selecting a treatment from a label.
Record changes in comfort and routine
Note whether symptoms began after a new product, travel, weather change or procedure. Bring a simple list of cleansing, moisturising and active products you use. If the concern is persistent, painful or associated with a rash, tell the clinician rather than assuming it is only a cosmetic hydration issue. Ask what the examination shows and whether routine changes or a medical assessment should come before any injectable discussion.
Questions to bring to your consultation
Use these questions to turn your interests into a specific discussion with your doctor. Keep the proposed treatment, the reason for it and the follow-up arrangements together in your notes.
- Is there a skin condition contributing to what I describe?
- Which parts of my routine should we review?
- What signs would mean I need a further assessment?
Your questions
Does drinking more water determine whether I need a skin booster?
No. A general hydration habit is not a test of suitability for an injectable. Discuss the actual skin findings and the purpose and risks of any proposed procedure.
