Sculptra vs Juvelook: How They Differ

Both work gradually, but their materials and plans differ.

AT A GLANCE

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA); Juvelook contains poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) with hyaluronic acid. Jcell offers both. Jcell usually recommends three Sculptra sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart; ask which product, if either, fits your concern and your travel plans.

Which product and formulation would you propose, and why for my concern?

Sculptra and Juvelook are both injectables based on polylactic acid, which is why they are often compared. Sculptra, made by Galderma, contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and is intended to work gradually rather than add volume at once. Juvelook contains poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) together with hyaluronic acid, and its formulations differ in purpose, so the name alone does not tell you whether a plan targets skin quality or volume.

The plans differ too. Jcell’s Sculptra page usually recommends three sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart, with a gradual change felt from about 4 to 6 weeks. For Juvelook, ask which formulation is proposed, how many visits it needs and whether the amount and area are included in your quote. If you live overseas, the number of return visits may matter as much as the material.

Neither product is interchangeable with a hyaluronic acid filler. Bring your concern, previous treatments and travel dates to the consultation, and ask the doctor to explain why one product, the other or neither is proposed for you.

How many sessions and visits to Seoul would the plan need?

  • What should I ask before choosing Sculptra or Juvelook?

Your questions

Which lasts longer, Sculptra or Juvelook?

It depends on the product, the formulation, the areas treated and your own response. Ask your doctor what to expect for the plan they propose rather than comparing general claims.

Can Sculptra and Juvelook be combined?

Ask your doctor. A combined plan needs a clear reason, a schedule and an explanation of the risks of each product.
