AT A GLANCE
Ultherapy uses ultrasound and Onda uses microwave technology. Before comparing them, ask whether the doctor is considering the same tissue concern, area and intended outcome in each proposal.
Separate brand interest from anatomical assessment
A concern about skin looseness may sound similar to a concern about contour, but the examination needs to establish what contributes to the change. Ask the doctor to explain that finding in ordinary language. If the clinic offers both devices, their availability does not mean both are suitable for the same patient or body area. Keep the explanation, limits and recovery requirements beside the price.
Questions to bring to your consultation
Use these questions to turn your interests into a specific discussion with your doctor. Keep the proposed treatment, the reason for it and the follow-up arrangements together in your notes.
- What is contributing to the change I see?
- Why would this device be considered for that finding?
- What would the other option leave unaddressed?
Your questions
Can I pick the technology based on a shorter appointment?
Appointment length is only one practical consideration. Suitability, achievable change, risks and access to follow-up should be discussed before convenience decides the plan.
