AT A GLANCE
Ultherapy and Thermage use different technologies, but that alone is not a reason to combine them. Ask the doctor what each would address, whether both are necessary and how the timing changes recovery and follow-up.
Make every component earn its place
Start with one main concern and ask which part of the proposal targets it. If the clinician recommends a combination, request an explanation of the expected contribution from each procedure and what uncertainty remains. Keep a separate price for each part. A staged decision may be worth discussing if your schedule, budget or ability to attend review is limited; no universal interval is prescribed here.
Questions to bring to your consultation
Use these questions to turn your interests into a specific discussion with your doctor. Keep the proposed treatment, the reason for it and the follow-up arrangements together in your notes.
- What would the second treatment add to the first?
- Why is this order and timing proposed for me?
- How would recovery, total cost and review differ with only one procedure?
Your questions
Should everyone combine the two for better results?
No. A combination needs an individual clinical reason and a discussion of added risks, costs and practical demands. It is not automatically a better choice.
